Wall Street Experts from JPMorgan, Franklin Templeton Join CFTC to Guide Crypto Market Rules
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is intensifying its focus on digital assets with key appointments to its Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC). Scott Lucas, J.P. Morgan's Head of Markets Digital Assets, and Sandy Kaul of Franklin Templeton will co-chair the Digital Asset Markets Subcommittee, replacing Caroline Butler.
Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham emphasized the GMAC's role in shaping CFTC policy and global regulatory dialogues. "The committee's insights are critical as we navigate evolving market structures," she said. Lucas echoed the sentiment, committing to "clear and effective regulatory frameworks" for digital assets.
The CFTC expanded the subcommittee with representatives from major crypto firms, including Uniswap, signaling deeper industry collaboration. This move aligns with growing institutional participation in cryptocurrency markets, though the announcement omitted specific token or exchange mentions.
